In many cases the government forensic laboratories only look for information that supports the crime you have been charged with. One of the latest techniques used by law enforcement is called "Cell Phone Tracking". Even if your phone's GPS is off every call, text or use of data is logged by your cellular phone company. This data is commonly being used to place individuals in specific areas on specific dates and times. Data such as telephone calls and the duration of the calls is also available.
